Folk is a Feminist Issue is a project by Lucy Wright, which combines research, art-making and curation.
My vision is of a new, more inclusive and far-reaching definition of folk that celebrates and empowers everybody, starting with women (we’re half the population, after all). To me, this is a crucial step for folk to be recognised as the powerhouse that it is, not just as a musical genre, but as an agent for resistance and change in the arts and culture, and beyond!
